Archival & Retrieval Solution Software is an enterprise-grade network backup software . It provides fully automated backups at any time you choose, and automated recovery.

The backup destination is LTO tape.

Supported Tape Drives :

The backup software uses standard operating system calls (read, write, IOCTL) to interface to
tape drives. As a consequence, it relies on having a correctly written OS tape driver. It works
perfectly well with SCSI tape drivers on FreeBSD, Linux, Solaris, and Windows machines.

Unsupported Tape Drives :

Drives that use IDE, ATAPI, or SATA interfaces rather than SCSI may have compatibility issues with
our backup solution. You may please check with us for details.

Storage Extension Option :

The backup can be taken on NAS filer or iscsi target or in Virtual Tape library.

High Availability (Cluster) Option :

The application is proposed to run on two node Red Hat Enterprise Linux Advanced Platform cluster to
provide the high availability. Customer may have to purchase subscription for Red Hat Enterprise Linux
Advanced Platform and the price is as follows as available in Red hat site.

"Papu has 11 Years of Storage/Embedded software industry experience having spent much of his career in the information and storage emerging technology space. Prior to joining "Aura Teknology Inc " , Papu worked as a senior storage specialist in HP. He delivered many functional solution on Unified Storage Management, Data Center Fabric, Geo Replication, Continous Access, Host/ Fabric/ Array Virtualization, Storage Tiering, high performance comuting, distributed filesystem to large scale customers. He is a certified Brocade fabric designer. As a member of SNIA,T11, Apache, OPEN WSMAN, Brocade/ Cisco/ HP/ EMC technical forum he has active participation in some industry initiatives, including Enterprise storage management and storage virtualization. He has spearheaded the opensrm activities to address the enterprise storage management challenges. Papu holds a B.Sc. degree in Mathematics from Presidency College and Masters in computers from Jawaharlal Nehru University. He also pursued Master of Statistics from Indian Statistical Instistute."
